Cesvi Foundation (hereinafter Cesvi) is a secular and independent organization, which for over 30 years has been operating in over 20 countries all over the world to support the most vulnerable populations in the promotion of human rights, in the achievement of their aspirations and for sustainable development. In 2019, Cesvi helped nearly 1 million people in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
In Italy Cesvi promotes information and awareness campaigns to encourage the culture of world solidarity and develops education and active citizenship projects in schools. From 2012, Cesvi also increased its commitment in Italy targeting vulnerable individuals at risk of socio-economic exclusion. In 2017, Cesvi activated a national program to prevent and combat child maltreatment and neglect in partnership with cooperatives and associations in the areas of intervention.
At a national level, Cesvi adheres to PIDIDA and to the Working Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), actively contributing to the updating of the annual monitoring report of the application of the Convention in Italy. On an international level, it also adheres to the Eurochild, Keeping Children Safe and PICUM platforms.
Cesvi was the first non-profit association awarded for its transparency with the Oscar di Bilancio FERPI (Federation of Italian Public Relations) in 2000; recognition also obtained in 2011 and 2017.
