Paramos Vaikams Centras (hereinafter PVC) is a non-governmental organization, which was founded in 1995 in Vilnius (Lithuania). Our mission is to ensure the psychological well-being of children by providing effective, professional, and comprehensive assistance to children and families.
PVC implements 5 programs that are “Big Brothers Big Sisters”, “Second Step” , “Childhood without Abuse”, “Positive Parenting”, “Parent Line”.
PVC provides assistance to children with behavioral and emotional difficulties and for those undergoing psychological crises. It spreads and implements ideas of positive parenthood, acts as a methodical center for specialists’ and volunteers’ preventive work with children, young people and families.
Moreover, it provides psychological services to the people and organizations of the country. It also provides psychological assistance by telephone in “Parent Line” where psychologists help to understand children’s behavior and emotions, explain the peculiarities of each developmental stage, advises on how to solve specific problems, help to calm down and control one’s anger when the situation becomes tense.
